When the kids were little we hoped for snow days once in a while. If we awoke and it seemed awfully light outside when it should be dark, I would turn on the radio and we would listen to see if our school district had canceled classes.

If that were the case, we would snuggle together in the bed for a few moments and then arise to a leisurely breakfast and television, two luxuries that rarely happened on the same day.

Last month, just before Christmas it started to snow, puffy and light, but with a lot of it.

The temperatures were just right for the snowflakes to momentarily stick to the screens of the summer porch and cover the tables and floors in a light powder dusting. Sugar cookie anyone?
How did I miss this great post? I'm completely jealous that you have a summer porch--perfect for grandchildren sleepovers in a few years?
